Architects' Darling 2011
AGROB BUCHTAL: an architects’ darling…
The Architects’ Darling was held for the first time this year. The competition had been initiated by Heinze GmbH, the leading German provider of information services in the building sector, on the occasion of the company’s 50th anniversary. This prize at which architects voted for their favourite building product brands is to be awarded regularly in future due to the very positive response. AGROB BUCHTAL won the coveted Gold-Award in the hotly contested category of floor coverings as well as the Bronze-Award in the facade sector. The remarkable double success underlines the high competence and acceptance of the brand within the specialized target group of architects.
These prizes are particularly valuable in so far as they are awarded by the architects themselves: a representative cross section of approximately 1,850 offices from all over Germany had voted within the scope of the biggest industry-wide opinion poll of the year, among them such illustrious names like Behnisch, Bolles + Wilson, GMP, Herzog & de Meuron, HPP, Ingenhoven, Kleihues, Sauerbruch Hutton or Zaha Hadid Architects, just to mention only some of them.
“With which manufacturers do architects preferably co-operate? Who offers the best products and solutions in the individual trades?“ These questions formed the starting point for the opinion poll carried out from June to September 2011 by Heinze Market Research. The readers of the Heinze “Architekten-Journal” and other architecture journals were asked to participate. In addition, the portals of heinze.de and BauNetz.de invited to take part. As already mentioned, approximately 1,850 questionnaires were completely filled in and included in the assessment.
Based on them, 17 product awards for individual trades and five general subject-related awards were conferred. The award ceremony took place on October 25 in conjunction with the well-known industry event “Celler Werktag“. In the course of a perfectly organized festive evening, the winners received the golden Architects’ Darling Award, a 26 centimetres high statue individually made by hand. Other companies were awarded the silver and bronze prizes.
